About Us

Who we are

Located at  1219 Washington Street in Pinedale, Wyoming, the Sublette County Ice Arena is an indoor arena boasting ice from September through The Wind River Skate Club was officially incorporated as a 501 (3) (c) Non-profit organization in 2010, but skaters have been enjoying skating in the Winds for more than 20 years!  The club is run by an elected Board of volunteers, and relies on club registration dues as well as donations to help fund items such as ice time, club coaches, costumes, and rental skates, which helps to keep the club participation costs at a minimum.  Please click here to review the Bylaws of the Wind River Skate Club.

USFSA affiliate

The WRSC is fully affiliated with the US Figure Skating Association, and follows their guidelines for skate level testing, as well as all SafeSkate practices.  Our #1 priority is the safety of our skaters, and all Board members and coaches participate in SafeSkate training.

While membership with USFSA is not a requirement to skate with WRSC, it is encouraged.  Membership with USFSA opens up opportunities for scholarships for our skaters, and helps track their progress through the Learn to Skate program.  In order to participate in USFSA sanctioned competitions, membership will be required.

Classes

The WRSC employs two full-time coaches with coaching assistants comprised of advanced-level skaters to assist in coaching each class.  Skaters in the lower levels learn the basic fundamental skills of skating, and each level builds on the skills from the previous level.  Click here to see a full description of classes.

Ice shows

The WRSC hosts two performances at the end of each season; the Winter Ice Show  held in December, and the Spring Ice Show held in March.  Each student will learn and present a choreographed number with their class.  Costumes are provided by the club to use for the performances, at no cost to the skater.

Competitions

Many of our skaters love to perform and compete at a number of competitions around the area.  Competitions are not a requirement to be a member of WRSC, but they are greatly encouraged!  All skating levels from Snowplow Sam to Adult have categories to compete in, so don't let your age or skill level discourage you or your skater!
